WASHING INSTRUCTIONS: Piling is a common issue with 100% cotton flannel sheets. There is no way to prevent that. (We do not accept that as a defect) However, The best way to keep your flannel lasting a long time is to WASH ALONE, the fabric should not be agitated with other items in the wash. Also, wash in cold water with gentle detergent and dry with low heat/delicate heat. Also, wear socks to bed or keep your bare feet soft. Grandmothers would tell you this was how they took care of flannel 50-100 years ago
